The System
This wet underfloor heating system used by Forgeworks was designed and is manufactured by our partner company USH Innovationen in Germany. The idea was to design a system which can be used to upgrade existing rooms or houses with underfloor heating as well as have a system which is simple to install in any new built house. Because of its construction it is also possible to use it as a wall heating.

You can clearly see the copper mesh covering the entire mat.
The mat can also be used in a wall. This allows an entire house to be heated without any radiators.
Advantages
- Constructed height only 24 mm!
- The UFH system consists of an insulation board (9 mm Phonotherm), the heating mat (9 mm) and a minimum of 5 mm of self-levelling screed on top of the mat bringing it up to a minimum height of 24 mm. This is unique in the underfloor heating market where most systems work with 15 mm pipes and 50 mm screed on top! It can simply be laid on top of wooden floorboards and tiled directly onto the screed.
- Simple Installation
- Installation is simple for the experienced installer as well as for the person doing his first self install. It consists of four major steps:
1. fitting the expansion foam edge to the wall
2. laying the Phonotherm boards (screw the boards to wooden floor, glue the boards with flexi tile adhesive to concrete flooring
3. unroll the mats and staple the mats to the Phonotherm boards
4. screed with quick set, self levelling screed
5. connect to controller box with push fit connectors
- Tested Design
- Our system covers the full range from single room refurbishment to new heating installations based only on underfloor heating. There is a solution for every requirement. It will provide your home or office with a very efficient heating system. Each room has got an independent control thermostat. The floor space will be evenly heated due to the unique design using 2 pipes per mat working in a contraflow manner and the heat spreading copper mesh on top of the pipes.
